Custom Knives

Many knife manufacturers offer their services to making completely custom knives. Some only allow for certain parts and features to be chosen from a selection of available parts, but there are still individual knife makers that create totally custom knives completely from scratch, using hot-forging techniques, sharpening and woodworking together to create a unique design.

Custom knives can be made from almost any material depending on what the client prefers and what is available. Carbon steel is the most requested material because although it is expensive it is very durable and sharp. A custom knife is not going to be cheap, but it will be of better construction than most production models.

There is a huge collectors market for custom knives as well, especially old knives and knives that are no longer made or considered illegal, such as butterfly knives. The condition of the knife and the age plays a huge role in determining the value of the blade. Knifes used by famous figures in history are coveted by the fiercest collectors and fetch the highest prices.
